9/16/15

I've never really played around with long exposure photography before, so I was experimenting a little bit tonight and looking for interesting results. I wasn't really looking for anything specific with this photo, but it turned out surprisingly well, looking almost like a lifeline from a medical readout. I tried a couple times more to get a better image, but it turned out that this one worked the best. I'm getting a general theme from these daily photos that my first instinct is often the best, and there's something spontaneous about capturing the moment that can't be recreated artificially. That's why it's best to go with your gut and try out different things as inspiration hits you.

  1. Oh man, I love this effect! This creates some really fun abstract images. My friend did some really cool stuff with this by putting lights on skateboards. I think your image looks like something out of an 80s sci fi film.

  2. I think it's about time I stop being surprised by your shots, dooder. When you really use your brain, and tap into the crazy creativity you possess, and expirement with it, you take amazing shots. They are different than a lot of other photographers I have seen, and that is a great thing. You have a unique voice, and this picture is yet another example of that.

  3. Experimentation always yields the greatest results! And usually the first on is the best. I love the contrast that the light provides against the dark backdrop. I like seeing it as the back drop being nature and the line being the man-made world. It never stays still while nature is constant.
